WMS Project Manager

We're looking for a driven and experienced IT Project Manager to lead the upcoming warehouse relocation and Warehouse Management System (WMS) selection and implementation project. Based in Coventry, £400pd outside IR35. We will need you to be onsite in Coventry 3 days a week. 6 month term

Role Overview

As the IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering critical IT infrastructure and systems projects related to the warehouse move. You will also lead the evaluation and implementation of a new Warehouse Management System to support future growth. This is a hands-on role requiring strong stakeholder management, technical understanding, and experience in delivering complex logistics or warehouse-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end IT delivery for the warehouse relocation project, including infrastructure setup, network planning, and systems migration.
- Manage the selection and implementation of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS), working closely with operations, logistics, and IT stakeholders.
- Define project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Manage cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, and contractors to deliver on-time and on-budget.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure continuity and minimise disruption during the warehouse move.
- Produce project documentation including plans, risk logs, reports, and change controls.
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, milestones, and dependencies.
- Ensure smooth handover to BAU teams post-go-live, including training and documentation.

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and/or warehouse technology projects (essential).
- Demonstrable experience delivering WMS selection or implementation projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
- Experience working in e-commerce, retail, logistics, or supply chain environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams.
- Hands-on with tools like Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently and drive initiatives in fast-paced environments.

- Experience integrating WMS systems with e-commerce platforms or ERPs.
- Prince2, PMP or Agile certification preferred.
