Enterprise Architect

Location: Birmingham
Contract: Day rate of £700-£750, inside IR35
Duration: 6 months (with opportunity for extensions)
1-2 days onsite (flexible)

Role Purpose:
We are working with a reputable client in Birmingham who are seeking an interim Enterprise Data Architect to join their team. The Enterprise Architect will serve as the strategic integrator of projects and programs, ensuring alignment with business strategies and priorities. Acting as the custodian of the organisation's architecture frameworks and methodologies, you will design and maintain architectural models that support business goals, processes, and data requirements. This role is pivotal in setting the direction for integrating information, applications, and programs across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert advice on enterprise architecture issues to senior stakeholders.
Translate business strategies into enterprise architecture artefacts, ensuring adherence to architectural principles.
Collaborate on strategic planning, creating models that align with business challenges.
Improve and govern enterprise architecture processes to support strategic alignment.
Develop architecture roadmaps with a focus on business, data, and technology ecosystems.
Oversee and support projects, ensuring architectural governance is followed.
Offer architectural consultancy across teams and chair technical design discussions.
Manage and enhance architectural knowledge assets, ensuring they are usable and add value.
Champion best practices and act as a trusted technology advisor within the organization.

Essential Skills and Experience:
Direct experience of building a cloud based technology platform
Data Programme Experience
Experience in Microsoft tools such as: Namely, Dynamics, Power BI, Microsoft Data Factory, PowerApps. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Purview, Databricks would also be advantageous
5-10 years as an Enterprise Architect, with expertise in two or more domains (Business, Data, Application, Technology).
Practical understanding of how business models and processes influence enterprise architecture.
Proven experience in aligning architecture with business strategies.
Knowledge of industry standards, integration approaches, and EA's role in IS portfolio management.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with strong decision-making capabilities and a holistic approach to IT and business.
Enterprise Architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent).
