Accounts Payable Team Leader required for a new ongoing temporary opportunity working for a well established business based in Birmingham City Centre.

This role is to start immediately, you must be available to start asap to be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the accounts payable team, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Allocate tasks and manage workload within the team to ensure timely processing of invoices.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to invoice payments and liaise with suppliers to address any issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring clear communication regarding payment schedules and resolving any disputes.
  • Negotiate payment terms and manage vendor queries effectively.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts payable balances with supplier statements.
  • Prepare and review accounts payable reports for management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.
  • Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline accounts payable processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits of accounts payable processes to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to ensure smooth end-to-end processing of transactions.
  • Participate in projects that impact the accounts payable function, providing insights and support as needed.


Key Requirements :

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable Team Leader role preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent data entry and organisational skills
